Principal Dr. Chan Ka-pik, Peggy, is the current Principal of Yan Chai Hospital Law Chan Chor Si Primary School. She obtained a doctorate and a master’s degree, both majoring in Educational Administration and Policy (EAP). Her doctoral dissertation was “The Relationship between the Leadership Style of Primary School Principals and the Implementation of Inclusive Education in Hong Kong. Principal Chan also obtained a master’s degree from the University of Western Australia (UWA), with her thesis focusing on “Curriculum Compacting” in gifted education.
Principal Chan has been serving in the Hong Kong education sector for over 30 years. She has shared her expertise on various educational topics, including leadership strategies, values education, and crisis management, with different universities and educational institutions. She currently serves as a tutor for the Principal Training Programme at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and a core course instructor for the Middle Leadership Programme.
Apart from her educational roles, Principal Chan also holds various public positions, including being the Chairperson of the Tuen Mun District of the Hong Kong Community Youth Club, the planner and coordinator of the Hong Kong Principals’ Institute Annual Conference, a school manager of Yan Chai Hospital No. 2 Secondary School, the Secretary of the Tuen Mun District Principals’ Association. She has also been interviewed by various media outlets, such as Radio Television Hong Kong, Metro Radio, TVB, Ming Pao, Sing Tao Daily, and Ohpama, to share her insights on primary education and school-based curricula.
