Professor Rex Ip-fu Li
Prof. Rex Li is the founding chairman of Gifted Education Council, Hong Kong. A psychologist and a pioneering scholar of gifted education, he founded Hong Kong Mathematical Olympiad School and G.T. College in 1995 and 1996 respectively.
In 2002, he founded G.T. Education Foundation to perpetuate his education and services to gifted children. He also serves as a consultant to many educational institutions in mainland China and Hong Kong.
Prof. Li received his Doctor of Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. He was appointed as Visiting Professor at the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Psychology, Beijing (1997) and at the Dewey Centre, Fudan University, Shanghai (2016).
Prof Li has published widely. He is the author of A Theory of Conceptual Intelligence (Praeger, 1996), Creativity Handbook for Teachers (Hong Kong, 2004) and Rediscovering John Dewey (Palgrave Macmillan, 2020). He is the chief editor of John Dewey's Selected Works: Education and Psychology (East China Normal University Press, 2017).
Dr. Raymond Kwok-wai Tam
Dr. Tam is a devoted school administrator with vision and vigour. He aims at providing quality education for gifted and talented youths. Dr. Tam works in the frontline to promote STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education. Dr. Tam is Chairman of the Gifted Education Council (Hong Kong) which organizes international events. He networks renowned schools from various countries to nurture students’ global vision. He enjoys reading and writes articles for major Chinese and English newspapers in Hong Kong, commenting on education, politics, social policies, and school administration. He wishes to promote gifted education, particularly in Hong Kong and mainland China.
Prof. Philips Wang
Prof. Philips Wang received his BEng degree in computer engineering and MPhil degree in computer science from the University of Hong Kong, and his PhD in Systems Engineering and Engineering Management from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research interests include educational technology, information retrieval, computer graphics, and bioinformatics. Prof. Wang has published more than three hundred papers in international journals and conferences. He has served as the principal investigator of more than twenty projects with a total amount greater than HK$50 million, and committee member of many international conferences.
Prof. Wang has twenty years’ experience in higher education. Prof. Wang is currently the Dean of School of Science and Technology of the Open University of Hong Kong. He was Vice President (Research and Technology) of Caritas Institute of Higher Education and faculty member at City University of Hong Kong. Prof. Wang is a fellow of British Computer Society, Chartered Governance Institute, and CPA Australia, and Senior Member of ACM and IEEE. He was the Chair of the IEEE Hong Kong Section Computer Chapter and ACM Hong Kong Chapter.
Dr. Christine K.Y. YU
Dr. Christine Yu obtained a Bachelor degree, Master degree and Doctor of Philosophy in Biological Science from the University of Hong Kong. She was specialized in plant molecular biology, biochemistry and metabolic engineering and had published several international journals.
Dr. Yu is the Department Head of Science and Mathematics, Biology Panel Head and Head of Talent Development Group of the G.T. (Ellen Yeung) College. She is committed to nurture talented global leaders and promote the sustainable development of STEM education. She is the chairperson of the Gifted and Talented Program Committee in the G.T. (Ellen Yeung) College which serves to fully develop and unleash the potentials of students in multiple intelligence domains by securing them with diverse learning opportunities at appropriate levels in a dynamic and innovative environment. She has been teaching in a Gifted and Talented Program in biotechnology since 2012 to nurture STEM talents. She has rich experience in mentoring students on authentic research projects, national and international Science competitions and Olympiad contests and have repeatedly achieved outstanding results. In 2018, she founded and led GT iGEM team and the team was the first individual Hong Kong high school team to be awarded a gold medal in the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition 2019 held in Boston, USA.
Dr. Yu has been collaborating with university professors and high school teachers to promote the development of STEM education in Hong Kong since 2016. The collaborations include the launching of the Hong Kong Joint School Biology Olympiad (HKJSBO) in 2017/18 and development of the first innovative courseware using Mixed Reality (MR) technology in the teaching and learning of Biology from 2019 to 2021. Besides, she is one of the founders and the coordinator of the Greater Bay Area Science Project Competition (GBASPC) 2021 to connect talented young scientists in the GBA for knowledge and innovative idea exchange. She is the author of a Biology reference book for the New Senior Secondary Curriculum. Currently, she has served as a STEM mentor of New York Academy of Science (NYAS) to support global STEM talent students. In 2020, she was awarded TOP 10 STEM Teacher Award in The Greater Bay Area STEM Excellence Award 2020 (Hong Kong).
Ms. Rose Lung
Mr. Jerwa K.Y. Ip
Mr. IP graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Master’s Degree in Social Science in Global Political Economy and a Bachelor’s Degree majoring in Economics and minoring in Government and Public Administration. He is the President of Hong Kong Association for Economics Education. He also contributes his experience to public examinations by working with the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority.
He also serves as a member of the “Campus Economics” editor committee, which is one of the best-selling journal to students. He was recently invited by the Education Bureau to hold a seminar to share teaching skills with other Economics teacher, he has been committed to promote the development of the subject of economics.
Mr. Benny H. S. LAI
Mr. Lai graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering. He later obtained a Master’s Degree at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the Hong Kong Institute of Education. Mr. Lai has rich work experience in a multinational company. He now teaches Mathematics and works on the moral development of students.
Mr. Alex O
Mr. Alex Kin Chit O serves as Assistant Principal at G.T. (Ellen Yeung) College. He has been working in physics and mathematics education for more than 20 years. In the past, he served as a member in the Education Bureau’s Practice HKHDSE Examination Paper in Physics and a physics textbook reviewer. Mr. O was graduated in The Chinese University of Hong Kong(CUHK), majoring in Physics and Mathematics. He also completed his Master of Philosophy in Theoretical Physics in The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the Master of Science in Mathematics in CUHK. He has published physics papers in the authoritative journals and given talks in international physics conferences.
Mr. O has been teaching gifted programs in Science and Mathematics for more than 10 years. He has cultivated gifted students to get qualified in attending various high-ranking competitions such as International Mathematics Olympiads, International Physics Olympiads, the Hang Lung Mathematics Awards, Yau S-T High School Science Awards, etc. Mr. O concludes that for a successful gifted education, teacher must firstly keep the interest of investigations in his/her subject. Secondly, teachers must accept gifted students about their weakness in communication skills and listen to them patiently.
Mr. Richard C. W. YIU
Mr. Yiu graduated from the Hong Kong Institute of Education with a double major in Physical Education and Mathematics. He thereafter obtained his Bachelor of Education and Master of Science in Computer Science at the University of Hong Kong. He endeavours to provide students with useful information regarding physical activities in order to promote lifelong physical fitness, health, and recreation.

Mr. Johnny C. H. YEUNG, MH
Mr. Yeung is a co-founder of Fujikon Industrial Holdings Limited (“Group”). He has been the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer responsible for the overall strategic planning, business development, formulation and implementation of the business policies of the Group. Mr. Yeung was elected the Honorary Fellowship 2004 by The Professional Validation Council of Hong Kong Industries, Directors of The Year Awards 2007 (executive Director): Listed Companies (SEHK – Non Hang Seng Index Constituents) by The Hong Kong Institute of Directors.
In 2014, he was awarded the University Fellow of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, re-elected the Industrial Fellow of Warwick University and the Medal of Honour (“M. H.”) at the Seventeenth Anniversary of the Establishment of the HKSAR. Mr. Yeung has over 50 years of experience in the electronics and acoustics industry and he was elected the Outstanding Achievement Award of Hong Kong Electronics Industry Council in April 2018. In addition, Mr. Yeung is the Executive Committee Member of the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong, the President of Hong Kong Wong Tai Sin Industry and Commerce Association, the Member of Innovation and Technology Training Board of the Vocational Training Council, the Honorary Chairman of Hong Kong Electronics Industries Association and the Honorary Chairman & the Vice Chairman of Dongguan Electronics Industries Association, the Deputy Supervisor and the President of Human Branch of Dongguan City Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment respectively.
